MBH Bank is the second major bank in Hungary with more than 500 branches countrywide, 7000+ employees, and more than 1.1 million clients. In recent years, it has acquired more than 60 small banks with their specific administration and IT infrastructure.

The consolidation of several small banks led to the urgent need for a robust yet very flexible system which forms a bridge between front office and back office, handles and automates finance workflows, approvals, and documents in accordance with professional and official regulations. It was a special expectation that the system could be implemented in several phases with tight deadlines and that the bank could independently implement, customize, and operate it in-house.

Internally, the client established a department solely dedicated to implementation and customization to expedite the launch of the new system. While providing crucial technological and business assistance, the parameterization process remained in the client’s domain. This underscores the importance of well-trained administrators. The bank was looking for a one-stop solution that could take care of all types of processing and approvals. Automating the loan process simplified and streamlined the loan application, approvals, decision, disbursement, and making official reports to authorities

Despite business complexity, the workflow platform was implemented in only about 5 months. This automated procedure provided consistency, shortened the time needed for data entry, and got rid of the laborious manual paper flow inherited from acquired banks. The absence of paper documents increased output and maintained a happier, more motivated workforce.
